26/52

Emmett ~ brushing his teeth. He's always the first one ready in the morning so he can watch Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom

Max ~ I caught him playing with the tv cord, his latest little trick. He turned 2 on Sunday, it's been the quickest 2 years of my life!

The girls ~ chilling out on the lounge together, out of the cold.

25/52

Leah ~ She came home from school last Wednesday to find Emmett and I had made a dreamcatcher. She then spent the afternoon making one for herself.

Milly ~ One training wheel off, she practised riding around the cul de sac near our house after school on Friday till it was too cold and dark to be outside anymore.

Emmett ~ Taking a break from bike riding to eat a biscuit. He put the bridle off the hobby horse on the bike and pretended it was his horse.

Max ~ Singing me a song as we went for a little bushwalk on Saturday morning.

Almost halfway with this project and I can't believe I have kept up with it so far! I'm picturing a beautiful photo book with all these images at the end of the 52 weeks, and knowing it's almost halfway through is a great motivator to keep going. I'm sure it won't be long and we'll be preparing for the Christmas season!

Changing Rooms (Again)

I've been at it again. Changing the furniture and bedrooms around. I swear I'm just trying to find the set up that works best, it's just taking me a while! Luckily Chris is mostly happy to indulge me with my slightly neurotic behaviour and help me move the furntiure.  Most people that visit us here, friends and family, say that the house is rearranged differently every time they come here. That's exaggerating slightly I think...

So after having Emmett and Milly sharing one room, and Max and Leah having their own rooms, we decided to go back to a girl's room, boy's room and a little playroom in the other bedroom. So far so good with the bedrooms. The kids are happy, and I had a massive declutter of toys and stuff that school aged girls seem to collect. Paper, notebooks, craft, hairbands, christmas cards from school friends and the list goes on. Oh and lots of dirty socks and jumpers. (Milly I'm looking at you...)

We also bought my brother's lounge off him because it was too big for their house after they moved house, so the loungeroom also got a bit of a makeover last weekend when Pete delivered it for us.
I must say this is the most content I've ever felt with the furniture arrangement in the loungeroom. It makes a huge difference actually having furniture that fits in the space.  It's lovely for all of us to fit on the lounge together at the same time without being on top of each other! I never thought I'd buy a (bonded) leather lounge, but I must say it's much easier upkeep with the kids. One wipe and it looks like new. The cube storage shelf is the perfect size to fit my Project Life albums in too, so I'm really happy with that as a tv unit.
Most of all I love the afternoon light in this room. It feels just how I hoped it would.

23/52 + 24/52

23/52

Milly ~ I made her this crown to wear for a Queen's Birthday dress up day at school. I finished it Friday night and she wore it the entire long weekend.

Leah ~ Wearing Daddy's safety goggles while helping prepare the duck yard for some new ducks to arrive.

Emmett ~ Chris gave him a number 3 just before bath time on Friday night.

Max - He still has that super soft baby skin, but no longer a baby.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

24/52

Max ~ He is answering only to Mick this week. If you call him Max, he says "I'm not Max, I'm Mick" in his best growly voice and little frown. Emmett started calling him Micko Bicko a little while ago, and then shortened it to mick and it's stuck.

Milly ~ She wanted to practise her tennis skills

Leah ~ She loves climbing this tree, and asked to have her photo taken here.

Emmett ~ checking out the neighbour's vegie garden. It's growing a lot quicker than ours!

~ I snapped these in a fluster on Sunday afternoon while we had a quick visit at the neighbour's house. I've felt this project almost slipping away from me these past couple of weeks, but I'm determined to complete the whole 52 weeks! ~

Weekly Stills ~ On Rainy Winter Weekends

On rainy winter weekends we like to stay at home and potter about. Chris will always brave the rain and cold for at least a little while and do some jobs around the yard. This weekend he chopped wood and started building a house for the ducks. He's picking up two new ones on Thursday.

On rainy winter weekends I like to sit and knit or do some sort of crafty work. I like to sit in the recliner in front of the fire and listen to the rain on the tin roof amongst children's voices.
I like to step outside now and again and breathe in the crisp air and stare out at the mist and fog. There's something a bit magical about fog, especially when it doesn't lift all day.

On rainy winter weekends the kids like to ride their bikes and scooters around and around the deck. The noise drives Chris and me crazy but it's worth enduring for the energy burn that the children desperately need when they've been inside for hours.

On rainy winter weekends the girls like to do craft, on this occasion water paints were the go. Lots and lots of water painted paper all over the table.

Rainy winter weekends are when our little house truly feels like a family home.

1 & 2. Early morning fog spread across our yard.
3. Raindrops on the rose bush
4. Still knitting the Boatneck Baby Sweater
5. Burning my 'Pomegranate' candle
6. The rogue scooter rider
7. Milly riding her bike on the deck.
8. The vine on the arbor leading up to the deck is in full winter mode
9 & 10. Water painting
11. I've moved the book shelf back out to the loungeroom. Max loves playing with the bead frame.
